Phillip Ray Thomas - Class Of 1978

SANDY HOOK, MS — Phillip Ray Thomas Jr., 43, a native of the Thomas community and a resident of Sandy Hook, died at 8 a.m. Sunday in the Bogalusa Community Medical Center. He was a tanker man on offshore tugboats.
 
Survivors include a son, Christopher Ray Thomas of Sandy Hook; his former wife, Darlene Moran of Sandy Hook; his parents, Phillip Ray Sr. and Shirley Jones Thomas of Thomas, LA; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenny Ray and Joetta Thomas of Houma, LA; a sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Billy Gerald of the Pine community; a niece, Savanna Thomas; two nephews, Cassidy Wayne Gerald and Dakota Gage Thomas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Commodore and Marie Ard Thomas and Marvin and Gertrude Crain Jones.
Visitation will begin at Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, LA, at 4 p.m. today and will continue until the chapel funeral service at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Revs. Denny Brumfield and Harold Gaddy will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
